INTERNATIONAL YOUTH COME TOGETHER FOR CHILDREN'S RIGHTS
Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality's Children's Rights Unit continues its efforts to promote the universal values of children's rights on international platforms and strengthen intercultural interaction. In this context, 17 university students from different countries who came to Türkiye through AIESEC Eskişehir took part in a children's rights programme held in Eskişehir.
During the event, a comprehensive presentation on children's rights and an interactive workshop were organised for the international participants. The programme covered the historical development of childhood as well as the national and international legal frameworks underpinning children's rights. The participants were also introduced to the rights-based work carried out in the field by Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality's Children's Rights Unit and examples of good practice.
The workshops were not limited to theoretical knowledge; key violations of children's rights in today's world were also examined from various perspectives. Participants formed working groups focusing on child labour, early and forced marriage, and children drawn into crime, discussing the causes of these issues, their impact on children, and possible solutions. Through group presentations, young people from different countries shared their own experiences and perspectives, engaging in an international exchange of ideas on children's rights.
