Ayşe Ünlüce was born in Eskişehir in 1970, completed her primary, secondary and high school education in Eskişehir and her undergraduate education at Faculty of Law in İzmir Dokuz Eylül University.
She started her career as a high court judge at the Ministry of Justice. After leaving the judgeship, Ünlüce turned to lawyership and worked at Directorate for Legal Affairs of Türk Telekom Inc. and Legal Consultancy Office of Eskişehir Osmangazi University.
Ünlüce, who served as a bencher of Eskişehir Bar Association and Head of Women's Rights Commission between 2002 and 2006, was elected as a Board Member and Central Anatolia Regional Representative of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations Women's Rights Commission (TÜBAKKOM) in the same period. In 2005, she served as the founding chairman of the Eskişehir Bar Association Environmental Commission. She served as a delegate to the Union of Turkish Bar Associations for three terms at the Eskişehir Bar Association after 2012. During this period, she took part as a speaker and moderator in many conferences and panels in the field of women's rights and family law.
Ünlüce worked actively in the Women's Platform of Eskişehir, which consists of the chairmans and representatives of twenty-four non-governmental organizations operating for women's solidarity in Eskişehir between the years of 2003 and 2016. Since 2006, she was elected to the Women's Council Executive Board during the City Council process of the action plan of Local Agenda 21 and served as vice chairman. In this process, she ensured the establishment of the Women’s Counseling and Solidarity Center of Metropolitan Municipality, which was a great achievement for Eskişehir, and provided voluntary legal consultancy services at the center for many years. She took part in legal literacy training in schools, neighborhood councils and town houses. She also continued her civil society work for a long time as an Executive Board Member of City Council.
Ünlüce, who was assigned as the 1st Legal Advisor of Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality in 2016, was appointed as the General Secretary of Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality by Yılmaz Büyükerşen, the Mayor of Metropolitan Municipality, in April 2018.
During her duties at the Metropolitan Municipality, she took an active role in following up many cases that would cause environmental destruction, especially the coal-fired thermal power plant planned to be built in the Alpu Plain, which was a project to destroy Eskişehir's air, water and soil, and concluded in favor of the city.
She has implemented cooperation projects with the civil society and educational projects to strengthen the social and cultural lives of women, youth and children in rural areas especially in rural development projects.
Ünlüce, who retired from the General Secretary of the Metropolitan Municipality in December 2023, was announced as the Mayoral Candidate for Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality by the Republican People's Party Council on January 10, 2024. She was elected as the Mayor of Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality with 51.03 votes on March 31, 2024.
Ayşe Ünlüce was elected as a member of the Turkish Union of Municipalities Board containing 14 mayors, at the Turkish Union of Municipalities (TBB) Assembly Meeting held after the election. Ünlüce also represents Türkiye as the Head of the National Delegation at the European Council The Congress of Local and Regional Authorities (CoE Congress).
She is the mother of 2 sons.
