FRIENDSHIP VISIT FROM BELGIUM TO ESKİŞEHİR

Emir Kır, Mayor of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode in Brussels, a sister city of Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, and the accompanying delegation visited Eskişehir Metropolitan Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce.

Mayor Emir Kır of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, met with Mayor Ünlüce at her office. During the visit, the two mayors exchanged views on potential areas of cooperation and joint projects between the two local governments. The meeting focused particularly on initiatives to strengthen the ties of Turkish citizens living abroad with their homeland, projects to enhance cultural interaction, and opportunities to further develop the friendly relations between the two cities.

Following the meeting, which took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce, together with Mayor Emir Kır and the accompanying delegation, visited local tradespeople along Hamamyolu Street and met with residents.

As part of the programme, the delegation also met with members of the Emirdağlılar Platformu and exchanged views on strengthening the ties of citizens living abroad with Türkiye and developing joint social and cultural initiatives.

In the final part of the visit, Mayor Ünlüce and the visiting delegation took a boat tour on the Porsuk River, one of Eskişehir's landmarks. Mayor Kır and the accompanying delegation expressed their admiration for Eskişehir's natural beauty, modern approach to urban development, and vibrant social life.
