PINOCCHIO MEETS CHILDREN IN NEIGHBOURHOODS

The puppet play Pinocchio, produced by the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality City Theatres, has started meeting children in different neighbourhoods across Eskişehir. The event, which was also attended by Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce together with the children, was filled with joyful moments. Accompanying the laughter of the children, Mayor Ünlüce spent time with the young audience and shared in their excitement.

Staged as part of the City Theatres' Caravan Puppet Theatre Project, Pinocchio aims to bring art to children living in neighbourhoods with limited access to theatre.

The first performance, held in Kanlıkavak Neighbourhood, attracted great interest from local children. Families also enjoyed the performance, which received long rounds of applause. With its colourful atmosphere, entertaining storytelling and strong stage performance, the play won the admiration of its young audience and drew significant attention at its premiere. At the end of the event, children and their parents thanked Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce and the City Theatres team, expressing their wish for similar events to continue.

Veteran director Murat Atak, who attended the event, underlined the importance of bringing children together with art, saying, "As City Theatres, we are meeting our children in parks. Throughout the summer, we will continue to meet children both in our central neighbourhoods and in our districts."

Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce also emphasised the importance of art in children's development, stating, "I would like to thank the valuable artists of our City Theatres who contributed to this wonderful play that touches the imagination of our children. I hope we will continue to come together at many more events where our children grow up surrounded by art and with smiles on their faces."

In addition, the puppet play Pinocchio will also be staged as part of the "There's a Festival in Our Village" events to be held in the rural districts. The festival schedule for June is as follows: Çifteler - 15 June, Sarıcakaya - 17 June, Günyüzü - 19 June, Mahmudiye - 22 June, Mihalıççık - 23 June, Beylikova - 24 June, and Han - 29 June.
