EXCITEMENT RUNS HIGH AT THE BARRIER-FREE QUIZ COMPETITION
The 19th Selen Special Quiz Competition, organized in cooperation with Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality and Barrier-Free Access Association, was held in Eskişehir. The event, which featured moments of great excitement and emotion, attracted strong participation at Haller Youth Center.
Organized annually to honor the memory of disability rights advocate and lawyer Selen Özel, the competition once again brought together participants from different disability groups this year, delivering messages of solidarity, equality, and accessibility.
A total of 21 teams participated in the organization, and the active involvement of visually impaired individuals added special value to the event. While showcasing their knowledge and skills, the contestants provided the audience with both exciting and inspiring moments. At the end of the competition, "Eskişehirli Patronlar" team came first.
Bringing together individuals from a range of age groups and with different types of disabilities, the competition was greatly appreciated for its inclusive structure. Stretching beyond being simply a quiz competition, the event also played an important role in raising awareness about people with disabilities in society. In a fun and educational atmosphere, participants shared their knowledge while also demonstrating the power of collaboration and solidarity.
At the end of the program, the winning teams received their prizes, and the contestants were greeted with applause in the hall, making it a memorable day. As the Barrier-Free Access Association and Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality stated, the event had been completed with great success, and they aim to continue this meaningful event in the coming years.
