THE METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY STOOD AGAINST VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN
Within the scope of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on 25 November, Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality has completed the training and awareness activities it launched a month ago in both the city center and rural districts.
Events organized in cooperation with the Metropolitan Municipality's Directorate of Women's Studies and the Directorate of Vocational Training and Education were held at the Vocational Training Center and the Tourist Handicrafts Center, as well as in the districts of Mihalıççık, Sarıcakaya, Mihalgazi, Beylikova, Seyitgazi, Alpu, and Han.
In line with the principle of "on-site service", teams from the Directorate of Women's Studies met with women and provided information on psychological, legal, nutrition and diet counselling, as well as child, adolescent, and couples counselling services. Training programs and workshop activities offered within this scope were also introduced.
Within the scope of the awareness activities, training sessions on Gender Equality and Violence Against Women were delivered by the Equality Unit, emphasizing the meaning and importance of gender equality. Additionally, the Women's Counselling and Solidarity Center held a Women's Health Seminar, covering topics such as understanding the body, hygiene and nutrition, reproductive health, communication, sexuality, and general health.
It was stated that, in line with the demands received during the events, the counselling services and training programs of the Directorate of Women's Studies will continue to be expanded and implemented both in the city center and across all districts.
