THE METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY CONTINUES ITS TRAININGS ON COMBATING VIOLENCE
Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality carried out comprehensive training and awareness-raising activities in the city center and rural districts within the scope of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, 25 November.
The activities, organized in cooperation with the Metropolitan Municipality's Women's Studies Branch Directorate and the Vocational Training and Education Branch Directorate, were held at ESMEK training centers located in the Emek, 71 Evler and Şirintepe neighborhoods, as well as in the districts of Sivrihisar, Mahmudiye, Çifteler and İnönü, bringing women together in these regions.
During the events, psychological and legal counseling, nutrition and diet counseling, and child, adolescent and couple counseling services were introduced. It was emphasized that, in line with the municipality's "On-Site Service" approach, activities for women are being carried out in every part of the city. Training programs offered by the Women's Counseling and Solidarity Center, Family Counseling Unit and Equality Unit were also presented, and women were informed that they may request training on topics they need.
As part of the program, the Equality Unit delivered a training session on Gender Equality and Violence Against Women, explaining the meaning and significance of 25 November. The Women's Counseling and Solidarity Center held a Women's Health Seminar aimed at raising awareness on topics such as understanding the body, hygiene and nutrition, reproductive health, communication, sexuality and general health.
The Metropolitan Municipality announced that training and awareness efforts will continue in different neighborhoods and districts.
