“Bİ’FİKİRLE ESKİŞEHİR” PROJECT RECEIVES ENCOURAGEMENT AWARD
The "Participatory Budget - Bi'Fikirle Eskişehir" project, implemented by the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality to strengthen democratic participation in urban governance, received the "Encouragement Award" within the scope of the 12th Raci Bademli Good Practices Awards organized by the Chamber of City Planners of TMMOB. The award was presented to Sıla Senem Bükülmez, Head of the Department of Strategy Development and City Planner, on behalf of Mayor Ünlüce.
In the competition evaluating successful projects and practices that contribute to the spatial, social, and economic development of cities, the project highlighting the municipality's participatory governance approach was recognized by the jury as an exemplary practice.
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN DECISION-MAKING PROCESSES
Through the "Participatory Budget - Bi'Fikirle Eskişehir" project prepared by the Department of Strategy Development, city residents were enabled to determine the city's priorities together with the local administration and participate directly in decision-making processes. Thanks to the project, Eskişehir residents became not only individuals who convey their requests but also active stakeholders who produce solutions, supervise processes, and contribute to governance. Thus, it became possible to shape the city's future through collective wisdom and to ensure fair and transparent allocation of resources.
THE AWARD WAS PRESENTED AT THE CEREMONY HELD IN BURSA
The award was received in a ceremony held in Bursa as part of the 49th World Urbanism Day Colloquium program. It was accepted on behalf of the municipality by Sıla Senem Bükülmez, Head of the Strategy Development Department and City Planner; Technician Özlem Koyuncu; Senior City Planner İrem Avcı; and Economist Semih Karadağ.
Sıla Senem Bükülmez, who received the award on behalf of Mayor Ünlüce, later presented it to Mayor Ünlüce in her office.

Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce expressed her satisfaction with the award and thanked all staff who contributed to the project. Mayor Ünlüce said, "We govern Eskişehir together with our citizens, through collective wisdom. With such participatory projects that enable our residents to have a say in the development of our city, we will continue to strengthen our understanding of democratic local governance."
With this meaningful award, the municipality's innovative, transparent, and participatory governance approach has once again been affirmed.
