WORKS AND PERFORMANCES BY INDIVIDUALS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS RECEIVE GREAT APPRECIATION
As part of the events organized for3 December, International Day of Persons with Disabilities, theEskişehir Metropolitan Municipalitycontinues to contribute to increasing the visibility of individuals with special needs in social life. The program prepared by theSpecial Needs Branch Directoratefeatured concerts, exhibitions, and interactive art activities, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere.
The event, held at the Haller Youth Center, began with a musical performance by the Colorful Voices Choir. The choir, composed of individuals with special needs and conducted by Choir Director Cem Aksu, received enthusiastic applause from the audience for their performances.
Later in the program, an exhibition of paintings and handicrafts created throughout the year by individuals benefiting from the Intellectual Disabilities Day Care Center was opened to visitors. Featuring handmade works, the exhibition attracted significant interest from the public.
Another highlight of the event was the interactive relief painting works of visually impaired artist İlker Ertuğrul. Under the artist's guidance, visitors had the opportunity to experience the artworks through touch. Continuing throughout the day, the event turned the Haller Youth Center into a true celebration of art.
The Intellectual Disabilities Day Care Center, operating under the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, continues to provide social, cultural, and artistic support that enables individuals with special needs to actively participate in everyday life--not just on a single day, but throughout the year.
Organized as part of 3 December, International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the program was met with great appreciation by families and citizens, while also highlighting the talents of individuals with special needs. The Painting and Handicrafts Exhibition will be open to visitors at the Haller Youth Center until Friday, 5 December.
