ESKİŞEHİR METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY TAKES A STEP TOWARDS CLEAN AND SUSTAINABLE ENERGY

Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality continues its determined efforts towards clean, renewable, and sustainable energy. Drawing attention with its environmentally conscious approach that considers not only today but also the future, the Metropolitan Municipality makes a significant contribution to environmental sustainability by generating its own energy in many areas, ranging from municipal service buildings to waste management facilities.

Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce evaluated the municipality's energy investments and made the following statement:

"As Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, we attach great importance to clean, renewable and sustainable energy production. Through our Mamuca Solar Power Plant, rooftop solar energy systems installed on our municipal service buildings, and our Solid Waste Disposal and Energy Generation Facility, we generate renewable energy amounting to 4,5 times the electricity we consume. These investments are not only part of our environmental responsibility but also a strong indication of our goal to leave a cleaner and more liveable city for future generations."

Aytaç Ünverdi, Head of the Climate Change and Zero Waste Department of Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, shared detailed technical data regarding the ongoing energy investments and stated the following:

"With our Mamuca Solar Power Plant and the rooftop solar power systems installed on our municipal service buildings, we have a total installed capacity of approximately 1,800,000 kWh. In addition, our Integrated Solid Waste Disposal and Energy Generation Facility has reached an annual electricity generation capacity of 9 million kWh. This amount of energy production corresponds to 4,5 times the electricity consumed by our municipal service buildings. We continue our investments in order to increase our production capacity and to strengthen public buildings with environmentally friendly technologies."
