The "Disability and Accessibility Workshop," organized by the Disabled Services Unit of the Social Services Department of Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality in cooperation with the Barrier-Free Access Association, was held at the Haller Youth Center. The workshop aimed to raise awareness for an inclusive and accessible way of life.
The workshop, held within the scope of 3 December, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, provided comprehensive information on topics such as ableism, language and discourse, accessibility standards, assistive technologies, current approaches in the field of disability, and access to fundamental rights. With students forming the majority of participants, speakers Ilgın Aydınoğlu and Canan Çam Yücel emphasized the importance of accessibility in this field through their informative and interactive presentations.
The Disabled Services Unit also underlined that one of the main objectives of the event was "to contribute to ensuring fair and accessible living conditions for everyone."
