“LOCAL GOVERNMENTS ARE THE STRONGEST LINK IN DEMOCRACY”
Ayşe Ünlüce, Member of the Executive Committee of the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye (TBB) and Mayor of Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, attended the TBB Ordinary Assembly Meeting for October 2025, held in Ankara. Commenting on the meeting, Mayor Ünlüce stated, "Local governments are the strongest link in democracy."
The Ordinary Assembly Meeting of the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye (TBB) for October 2025 was held in Ankara. The meeting was chaired by TBB Vice President and Mayor of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality, Vahap Seçer. Mayor of Haymana, Levent Koç, and Mayor of Korkuteli, Saniye Caran, also "served as clerks of the presiding committee.
Commenting on the meeting, Mayor of Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Ayşe Ünlüce said: "Local governments are the strongest link in democracy. A strong local government approach forms the foundation not only for the development of our cities but also for the progress and prosperity of our country. With this understanding, we will continue to work with all our strength. I wish the decisions we have made to be beneficial for all our municipalities."
During the assembly meeting, TBB Secretary General Suat Yıldız gave a presentation on the 2026 Performance Program, the 2026 Fiscal Year Budget, the Authorization for the Conditional Grant Agreement with the European Commission, and Amendment to the Grades of Vacant Positions". The meeting concluded with the approval of the agenda items.
