'CITY THEATRES' RETURNS FROM ONE OF EUROPE'S MOST PRESTIGIOUS FESTIVALS WITH AN AWARD

The Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality City Theatres have returned with an award from the 32nd International Subotica Children's Theatre Festival in Serbia, where their puppet play "I Can Fly Too" was honored with the "Best Ensemble Performance" award. The team shared their joy with Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce.

Organized by the Open University of Subotica, the 32nd International Subotica Children's Theatre Festival took place from September 21 to 26 in Subotica, Serbia. Featuring distinguished children's plays from around the world, the festival welcomed Eskişehir City Theatres as Turkey's representative with their production "I Can Fly Too". Performed on September 25, the play received enthusiastic applause from young audiences and was met with great acclaim from festival officials and participating troupes.

Upon returning from the festival, the City Theatre cast visited Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce to share their experiences and celebrate their success. Mayor Ünlüce congratulated the artists, stating: "We are proud of our artists who represent the cultural values of our city on the international stage in the best possible way. This success is a reflection of Eskişehir's appreciation for art and artists. I sincerely thank all the performers on behalf of our fellow citizens for their hard work and dedication."

Artistic Director of City Theatres, Hakkı Kuş, also shared his thoughts: "The Subotica Children's Theatre Festival has been regarded for over 30 years as one of the most important children's theatre gatherings--not just in the Balkans, but across the world. To be selected and invited for the first time in our history to such a prestigious event, to be welcomed with praise and admiration, and to receive the 'Best Ensemble Performance' award is a great honor for us. We are committed to continuing to represent our city and country with excellence at similar international festivals."

Written and directed by Eskişehir City Theatres artist Berkay Akın, he play "I Can Fly Too", offers an engaging and entertaining performance with charming puppets. The cast includes Çiğdem Altuğ, Bilge Büyükerşen, and Nagihan Orhan.
