Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality continues its awareness-raising activities at full speed within the scope of European Mobility Week, celebrated between 16-22 September. In this context, the competition known as "City Race" across Europe was organized in Eskişehir for the first time under the name "Discover the City with Sustainable Transport."
The Metropolitan Municipality's Youth Centers held this fun event as part of Mobility Week. Starting from Haller Youth Center Park, participants completed tasks at various points of the city using QR codes, and traveling on foot, by bicycle, and by tram. The tasks at cultural and historical sites added excitement to the competition while highlighting the importance of eco-friendly modes of transport.
At the finish line in Velespit Park, Deputy Secretary General of the Metropolitan Municipality Mehmet Recai Erdir presented awards to the participants and expressed his gratitude for the strong interest in the event. Erdir said, "We are very pleased to celebrate European Mobility Week with diverse and enjoyable activities. Our aim is to introduce our citizens to sustainable transport methods and raise awareness on this issue. I congratulate all the teams that took part."
The team that completed the final stage the fastest won'' two bicycles''. The second-place team was awarded ''free admission for two months'' to the Metropolitan Municipality Symphony Orchestra and theater events, while the third-place team received a ''two-month membership'' at the Metropolitan Municipality sports hall.
