The Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality attracted visitors with its stand at the 6th Eskişehir Agricultural Fair held at the Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce's TÜYAP Fair Center. The Metropolitan Municipality's stand showcased products unique to the city, including Küllüoba Bread, Dorlion Olive Oil, silkworm cocoons, and local seeds, all of which have a 5,000-year history.
The Metropolitan Municipality's stand at the 6th Eskişehir Agricultural Fair, held at the Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce's TÜYAP Fair Center, attracted significant interest. The stand, which featured participation from the Metropolitan Municipality's Agricultural Services Department, the Parks and Gardens Department's Local Seed Center, a Public Bread Factory, and the Producer Market, was highly acclaimed by producers from both Eskişehir and surrounding provinces.
The opening of the fair, where a wide range of products and services were exhibited from agricultural technologies to animal husbandry, irrigation to mechanization, was attended by Eskişehir Deputy Governor Adem Keleş, Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Hasan Ünal, Odunpazarı District Governor Ömer Ulu, Eskişehir Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Deputy Director Kemal Çevik, ETO Assembly President Halil İbrahim Ara, TÜYAP General Manager İlhan Ersözlü, Eskişehir Organized Industrial Zone President Nadir Küpeli, Eskişehir Commodity Exchange President Ömer Zeydan, Eskişehir Bilecik Region Chamber of Veterinarians President Erdinç Yuva, and Chamber of Agricultural Engineers Eskişehir Branch President Selma Güder.
The stand, which attracted considerable interest from farmers and livestock producers, provided information about the municipality's support and efforts for rural development. Citizens also had the opportunity to sample Halk Ekmek products, including Küllüoba Bread, a 5,000-year-old product, Dorlion Olive Oil, tomato sauce, jam, and basil sherbet. Metropolitan Municipality teams distributed tomato seedlings, rosemary, and local seeds.
Acting Metropolitan Mayor Hasan Ünal stated that the Metropolitan Municipality continues to develop agricultural projects. He said, "Eskişehir is not only a strong industrial and technological city, but also a city with high agricultural potential. However, unfortunately, the droughts experienced in recent years have prevented this potential from being fully realized. This situation stems from deficiencies in our country's general agricultural policies. I believe these problems will be resolved in the future. However, for this to happen, agricultural planning must be implemented immediately and with determination. It is essential to use our water resources much more carefully and efficiently. Water means life, and unfortunately, it is not readily available everywhere. We need to utilize our existing water resources within the framework of sound agricultural policies to increase production efficiency and quality. I pray to God for the best for our farmers. Mere mechanization is not sufficient for agricultural development. I place great importance on production and production planning. Everyone planting the same crops hinders sustainable agriculture. Therefore, we must act with greater awareness and coordination regarding production planning and water management."
Meanwhile, visitors to the stand said, "We previously purchased local seeds, planted them in our garden, and now we're buying them again. We've created delicious and healthy products. We also had the opportunity to taste the Metropolitan Municipality's products sold at Produce Markets, and we were very pleased. We extend our sincere thanks to Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce and her team." The 6th Eskişehir Agricultural Fair will continue to welcome visitors until September 6th.
