"COMMON MIND IS AT THE FOUNDATION OF EVERY PROJECT"

Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce met with neighborhood headmen (muhtars) in the Tepebaşı district to assess the needs of the neighborhoods and provide information about new projects. Mayor Ünlüce, who listened to the demands of the headmen, said, "Behind every service lies the genuine needs of the citizens, and at the heart of every project lies common sense."

The meeting, held at the Genco Erkal Stage of the Eskişehir City Theaters, was attended by Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Metin Bükülmez, ESKİ General Manager Oğuzhan Özen, and Transportation Department Director Ahmet Fırat Bilgili, who gave a presentation on transportation projects.

The headmen directly conveyed the problems they faced in their neighborhoods to Mayor Ünlüce, expressing their demands on a wide range of issues, including infrastructure, transportation, landscaping, and social services.

Mayor Ünlüce provided information about the projects, which are tailored to the needs of the neighborhoods, emphasizing that the work is planned according to priority needs and will be implemented with a citizen-focused approach.

Mayor Ünlüce stated that neighborhood headmen (muhtars) serve as a vital bridge between citizens and institutions, and that their requests are therefore crucial. She said, "Our neighborhood headmen (muhtars) are the eyes, ears, and voices of our neighborhoods... You are the first link in the neighborhoods of the local government, the one in closest contact with our citizens. Therefore, your opinions, demands, and proposed solutions have always been guiding us. We are gathered here today to listen to your problems and requests, to share our ongoing and planned projects with you, and to discuss how we can provide better services through collaboration. From infrastructure and transportation to landscaping and social services, we are determining the steps we will take in many areas under your guidance. Our fundamental approach is needs-based planning, on-site solutions, and collaborative management. The needs of every neighborhood in Eskişehir are not the same; therefore, we shape our projects not just one-size-fits-all, but based on the neighborhood's priorities. Behind every service lies the true needs of our citizens, and at the heart of every project lies shared wisdom. Today, we will discuss our work, which will be further strengthened by your contributions. We are proud to be carrying out this process together with you." At the end of the meeting, the muhtars thanked Mayor Ünlüce for the interest and support shown in their neighborhoods, stating that they were open to cooperation and valued joint efforts.
