HALK EKMEK FACTORY HOSTS WORLD TOURISM PROFESSIONALS: "ACCESS TO QUALITY FOOD IS ALWAYS OUR PRIORITY"
Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality's Halk Ekmek Factory hosted members of the Eskişehir Branch of the World Tourism Professionals Association (SKAL). Speaking during the visit, Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce said, "As the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, we always prioritize production, local development, and public access to healthy, high-quality food."
The event, attended by SKAL Eskişehir Branch officials Hakkı Gök and Ufuk Özkaratay, SKAL member hotel managers and staff in Eskişehir, and the Eskişehir City Council, introduced guests to Halk Ekmek and Halk Süt products.
During the visit, Mümtaz Şoğur and Serap Güler, Vice Chairs of the Halk Ekmek and Halk Süt Boards, provided information about the production processes, product variety, and quality standards of bread and dairy products. In this context, Küllüoba bread, inspired by the 5,000-year-old bread unearthed at Küllüoba Mound and made with ancestral grains such as Kavılca, Khorasan, and Gacer, ground in a stone mill, along with lentil flour, was also introduced to the participants with special presentations. Excavation Director Prof. Dr. Murat Türkteki stated that this special bread, developed in light of archaeological findings, contributes to today's understanding of healthy eating with its low-gluten, additive-free, and nutritious texture.
Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce said, "We are delighted to welcome you today to our Halk Ekmek Factory, one of the important production facilities of the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality. First and foremost, I would like to emphasize that, as the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, we always prioritize production, local development, and public access to healthy, high-quality food. With our Halk Ekmek and Halk Süt facilities, established with this understanding, we contribute to the budgets of our citizens and stimulate Eskişehir's agricultural and production potential. Our primary goal in all the products we produce at our Halk Ekmek and Halk Süt facilities is to provide our people with high-quality, healthy, and affordable food. I see this visit as a starting point and hope to collaborate even more closely with you in the future. I thank each and every one of you for your interest and contributions to bringing Eskişehir's assets to tourism."
Members of the Eskişehir Branch of the World Association of Tourism Professionals (SKAL) thanked Mayor Ünlüce and her team for their interest.
