Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce attended the opening of the 9th International Nasreddin Hodja Culture and Arts Festival, organized by the Sivrihisar Municipality.
The opening ceremony of the 9th International Nasreddin Hodja Culture and Arts Festival, organized by the Sivrihisar Municipality, was attended by Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce, CHP Eskişehir Deputy Jale Nur Süllü, Odunpazarı Mayor Kazım Kurt, Beylikova Mayor Hakan Karabacak, Alpu Mayor Gürbüz Güller, Mihalıççık Mayor Haydar Çorum, Mahmudiye Mayor İshak Gündoğan, CHP Provincial Chairman Talat Yalaz, İyi Party Provincial Chairman Serdar Ulucan, the Friendly Associations Platform, District Party Chairs and Council Members, as well as Kalecik Mayor Satılmış Karakoç, a sister city of Sivrihisar Municipality.
Mayor Ünlüce said, "I hope this festival is held in a way befitting Sivrihisar and its culture. Keeping Nasreddin Hodja alive is so important and valuable. It is partly the responsibility of this festival to keep alive and promote the wise personality of Nasreddin Hodja, who was born in Sivrihisar in 1208, grew up here, lived here, and died here. Sometimes you can write countless pages to convey an idea, a thought, but Nasreddin Hodja, with his wise personality, conveys his thoughts so beautifully in a single joke or witticism that all those extra words are wasted. I wholeheartedly congratulate Sivrihisar Mayor Habil Dökmeci, the municipal staff, his team, and, of course, all of Sivrihisar and its residents for combining such wisdom with Sivrihisar's ancient culture and for attaching great importance to this festival, making it such a comprehensive event on both an international and national level. I wish you a wonderful three-day festival." I wish you all the best. As the Metropolitan Municipality, we are here from the beginning to the end of the festival, together. I embrace everyone with love and respect," he said.
Following the opening remarks at the 9th International Nasreddin Hodja Culture and Arts Festival, the Gaziantep Gazi Folk Dances, the Ankara Tuana Folk Dance Ensemble, the Balıkesir MOD 10 Youth Choir, and groups from Costa Rica and Egypt provided unforgettable moments with their performances.
