LEFT FROM MY FAMILY EXHIBITION MET WITH ART LOVERS

The Left From My Family exhibition, which was brought to life in collaboration with Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality and Anadolu University, opened its doors to great interest from art lovers in Çekirdek Eskişehir. Presenting a multi-layered narrative through clothing that bears traces of emotions, memory and the past, the exhibition aims to go beyond the conventional perception of fashion and provide viewers with an unforgettable experience. 

The exhibition, one of the most striking stops of the project carried out within the Anadolu University Faculty of Communication Sciences, met with art lovers at Kentpark, this time hosted by Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality. The opening ceremony was attended by Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Hasan Ünal, Anadolu University Faculty of Communication Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Bülend Aydın Ertekin, academics, senior students of the Faculty of Communication Sciences and project managers Meryem Şanlı, Esma Tuğçe Kosacı, Könül Karimova, Doğuş Ertoprak, Ali Hamamcı, Mustafa Özen, Osman Karhan and many art lovers.

Drawing attention to the fact that clothes are not only objects but also beings that bear witness, carry and narrate, the exhibition invites visitors to trace the past from a posthumanist perspective. Each piece comes to life in a mother's labor, a neighbor's heirloom or a teacher's memory. Fabrics, buttons, stains and repairs are also included in the exhibition as silent witnesses of time.

The clothes in the exhibition were created with pieces that the students inherited from family members with whom they had a biological or emotional bond. The project, which does not limit the concept of family to blood ties, was designed with an understanding that encompasses every relationship that grows together, shares, and leaves a mark.

The exhibition was curated by project advisor Dr. Lecturer Nihan Vural, and the stories came to life with the voice-overs of Lecturer Aylin Aydoğdu from Anadolu University State Conservatory, actor/musician Akif Demir and Radio A Program and Culture and Arts Director Dr. Elif Yılmaz.

The Left From My Family exhibition awaits art lovers at the Çekirdek Eskişehir building in Kentpark until June 10.
