Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality has begun to transform the city into a flower garden with colorful flowers that has been grown in the greenhouses of the city. The Parks and Gardens Department teams have produced approximately 1 million summer and winter flowers this year, decorating every corner of the city.
The flowers grown in the greenhouses belonging to the Metropolitan Municipality offer a visual feast while also contributing to the budget thanks to local production. Among the 1 million flowers produced in the greenhouses belonging to the municipality, there are many flowers and medicinal aromatic plants such as geranium, Bodrum daisy, cockscomb, star, zinnia, petunia, marigold, lavender, rosemary.
Stating that they have started to beautify all corners of Eskişehir, Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce said, “We add color to all corners of our city by growing dozens of varieties of flowers with great care. Thanks to these flowers, which are our own production, we provide significant savings in our budget. While contributing to our city economy, we are also making Eskişehir a greener, more colorful and more livable city. You will see these beautiful flowers in our parks, intersections, median strips and boulevards. However, you, our valued fellow citizens, also have a great responsibility to ensure that this beauty is sustainable. Please, let's take care of these flowers and protect them. Because this labor belongs to all of us.”
With these flowers to be used in parks, median strips, intersections and green areas, Eskişehir's aesthetic texture has been further enriched. Municipality officials asked citizens to take care of the flowers and contribute to the preservation of these beauties.
Metropolitan Municipality Parks and Gardens Department officials stated that the flowers meticulously prepared in greenhouses will continue to add beauty to every corner of the city, especially to the streets and boulevards.
