The “Reflections” exhibition organized by ESMEK, the art and vocational training brand of Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, for the 24th time this year with the theme “Blue in Me” inspired by the eyes of the Great Leader Atatürk, opened its doors with intense participation. Speaking at the opening, Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce said, “Today, we are here not only to celebrate an exhibition; but also to celebrate labor, production, solidarity and the culture of lifelong learning.”
Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Art Vocational Training Courses (ESMEK), which started its educational activities in 2001 with the slogan “Every Home is a Workshop” and has provided free services to over 300 thousand citizens in 330 branches to date, continues to be the center of attention of Eskişehir residents with its successful works.
The traditional “Reflections” exhibition organized by Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Art Vocational Training Courses (ESMEK) opened this year at the Atatürk Culture, Art and Congress Center with the theme “Blue in Me”. The exhibition, which includes over a thousand works prepared in 46 branches from 14 different centers, was attended by Metropolitan Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce, Eskişehir Deputy Governor Oğuz Şenlik, Sivrihisar Mayor Habil Dökmeci, Çifteler Mayor Zehra Konakçı, Mihalıççık Mayor Haydar Çorum, trainees, their families and many art lovers.
Speaking at the opening, Metropolitan Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce emphasized that ESMEK courses do not only teach art, but also open the door to economic independence and social empowerment. Ünlüce said, “Today, we are here not only to celebrate an exhibition but also to celebrate labor, production, solidarity and the culture of lifelong learning. ESMEKs have a great purpose. They both teach art and provide employment. Some of our trainees have opened their own businesses, and there are trainees who have started selling by receiving e-commerce training. These are of course very important. But the most important thing is women socializing, getting stronger, coming together and showing solidarity.”
Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, which also drew attention to production, employment and women’s solidarity in addition to art, Deputy Governor Şenlik said, “I am sure that we will see wonderful works this year as we did last year. I wholeheartedly congratulate our Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce, her team, course instructors and the trainees who worked hard.”
The Reflections exhibition, where art and production meet and solidarity is made visible, can be visited free of charge at the Atatürk Culture, Art and Congress Center until May 29.
