AN UNFORGETTABLE CONCERT FROM THE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
This week, Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Symphony Orchestra performed another unforgettable concert under the baton of conductor Maximilian Cem Haberstock and with cellist Poyraz Baltacıgil as soloist.
In the first part of the concert, W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni Overture was performed. The EBB Symphony Orchestra, which performed this profound work, which was completed the night before its performance on October 29, 1787, was highly acclaimed. Then, R. Schumann's Cello Concerto was performed with cellist Poyraz Baltacıgil as soloist. Poyraz Baltacıgil, who performed this concerto, which gives the soloist a lot of space with its bright and virtuosic passages, with his successful technique and rich depth of expression, was applauded for a long time. Poyraz Baltacıgil, who returned to the stage with intense applause, performed two encore performances. Expressing his happiness in performing the work 4P, composed for him by the esteemed pianist and composer Barış Büyükyıldırım, Poyraz Baltacıgil left the stage with applause. Drawing attention with its repetitive minimalist structure enriched with elements from different musical genres such as jazz music, this work has won great appreciation from art lovers with its holistic narrative and original, strong language of expression.
In the interview before the concert, Poyraz Baltacıgil expressed his pleasure to perform European composers in Türkiye with the EBB Symphony Orchestra on May 9th, Europe Day.
In the second part of the concert, the EBB Symphony Orchestra, conducted by conductor Maximilian Cem Haberstock, performed W.A. Mozart’s “Jupiter” Symphony No. 41. The unforgettable concert ended after the presentation of the plaque.
The curtains closed for the Cihat Aşkın & Cem Babacan Recital to be held at the Metropolitan Municipality Art and Culture Center on May 13th, 2025 at 20:00.
