Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality once again demonstrated the unifying power of sports with the Barrier-Free Strokes Swimming Races organized within the scope of Disabled Persons Week on May 10-16.
Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality has organized another meaningful event within the scope of the Disabled Persons Week between May 10-16. The Barrier-Free Strokes Swimming Races, organized every year in cooperation with the Youth and Sports Services Department and the Social Services Department, were held with great enthusiasm and excitement at the Kentpark Indoor Swimming Pool.
The competitions, in which special athletes with Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, physical, visual and hearing impairments participated, provided emotional moments for the audience. The athletes were followed with great pride by their families from the stands and were highly appreciated for their determination and performance.
In the event, athletes competed fiercely in the 50-meter butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle categories. One of the most exciting moments of the races was the relay race. At the end of the event, which featured colorful scenes, medals were presented to all athletes. This meaningful organization once again demonstrated the unifying power of sports and that obstacles can be overcome with love and determination.
