GETTING TOGETHER FOR KNOWLEDGE, SOLIDARITY WITHOUT BARRIERS
The 18th Selen Special Quiz Competition, organized in collaboration with Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality and Engelsiz (Barrier-Free) Access Association, was held in Eskişehir for the first time this year. The event, held at the Haller Youth Center, provided participants with both informative and emotional moments.
The quiz show, which is held every year to keep alive the memory of Selen Özel, a lawyer and advocate for the rights of the disabled who passed away on March 12, 2010, attracted great attention this year as well. The Show has been held in Istanbul 17 times to date. This year it has been held in Eskişehir for the first time as well.
Competitors who participated in the competition individually or in groups formed 21 separate teams. Visually impaired individuals were in each team, including different disability groups, and they experienced the excitement of the competition. Competitors received full marks from the audience by displaying their knowledge.
The fact that the participants were from different age and disability groups once again demonstrated the inclusiveness and awareness-raising power of the competition. At the end of the competition, awards were given to the winners.
Speaking at the end of the event, Barrier-Free Access Association representatives and municipal officials stated that this meaningful organization will continue in the coming years.
