“THESE WORKS REFLECT THE COLORFUL WORLD WITHIN THEM”
The exhibition, which consists of the works of individuals receiving service at the Metropolitan Municipality Mentally Disabled Day Center, was opened with the participation of Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce and many citizens. Ünlüce said, “This center is not only a care center, but also the best example of living together.”
An exhibition of paintings and handicrafts prepared by individuals receiving service at the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Day Center for mentally disabled people was opened at the Haller Youth Center on the occasion of May 10-16 Disability Week. The opening was attended by Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce, CHP Eskişehir Deputy Utku Çakırözer, students receiving service from the center, their families and many citizens.
Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce emphasized that the center has been an inclusive living space that provides not only care but also participation in social life since 2017. Ünlüce said, “This center provides a very valuable service thanks to our friends who work with love and great hearts. I am impressed once again with each visit. The works exhibited here reflect the inner worlds, love and creativity of our special individuals.”
Stating that every work in the exhibition was prepared with love, effort and solidarity, Ünlüce said, “I have not missed any of them since the first exhibition. Because seeing the colorful world in these works makes me incredibly happy. I hope that we will reach more of our fellow citizens by increasing our centers of this kind in the coming period.”
The exhibition, which reminds viewers of the unifying power of love, understanding and solidarity, not differences, can be visited until May 15, 2025.
