Students of Es Children's House affiliated with Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality visited the Metropolitan Municipality Integrated Solid Waste Disposal and Energy Production Facilities in order to gain environmental awareness and sustainable energy production.
The Metropolitan Municipality continues its work as it is important to raise environmental awareness in preschool children for a healthier and cleaner world. In this context, students of Es Children's House were hosted at the Integrated Solid Waste Disposal and Energy Production Facilities. They were informed about the recycling of solid waste and how energy is obtained.
During the visit, the students listened with interest to the environmentally sensitive work of the Metropolitan Municipality and gained important information about waste management and energy production. The students gained an idea about environmentally friendly processes both while receiving training and by observing the operation of the facility. In addition, the authorities explained that the electricity needed by Eskişehir is contributed to by producing electricity from methane gas and that various plant species are grown in greenhouses to be used in landscaping works with the waste heat released during electricity production. After the training, the students toured the greenhouse and had the opportunity to get to know the plants produced.
The students, who were extremely pleased with the trip and learned a lot of new information, thanked Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce and her team for the support they received.
