Ambassador of France to Ankara Isabelle Dumont and the accompanying French delegation visited Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce. During the visit where cooperation was emphasized, Ambassador Dumont thanked for the joint projects implemented in Eskişehir.
Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce welcomed French Ambassador to Ankara Isabelle Dumont, Undersecretary for Cultural Activities and Cooperation, Gilles Roulland, Director General of the French Cultural Center in Türkiye, Sophie Gauthier, Director of the Institut Français d'Ankara, Kilian Vivien, Political Counselor at the Embassy of France, Orhan Chiali, Undersecretary for Economy at the Embassy of France and the accompanying delegation, who came to Eskişehir to attend the opening of the “Micro-Folie Eskişehir Digital Museum and Selçuk Demirel's Between the Earth and the Sky” exhibition.
Isabelle Dumont, the first female ambassador in the history of Turkish-French diplomatic relations, congratulated Ayşe Ünlüce on becoming the first female mayor of Eskişehir and wished her success. She expressed her gratitude to Mayor Ünlüce for hosting the French musician, songwriter and interpreter Ysé Trio by Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality at Sazova Science, Culture and Art Park on September 17.
Ambassador Isabelle Dumont stated that they are ready to cooperate with Eskişehir and that they want to realize important projects. Ambassador Dumont stated that she was very happy that the Women's Rights Project of Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Women's Counseling and Solidarity Center and Refugee Support Association (MUDEM), which came together with the project call of the French Embassy, was realized in Eskişehir and thanked Mayor Ünlüce for his interest in the project.
Mayor Ünlüce stated that they are open to all kinds of cooperation and said, “Eskişehir is a city that is fed in many ways. As it has been until today, Eskişehir is a city that will always develop with a balanced development model. As the Metropolitan Municipality, we have given importance to sustainability in every project and investment we have realized in our city. These projects have progressed by growing even more in the following periods. We always do the best for our city.”
Mayor Ünlüce expressed his gratitude for the visit and thanked Ambassador Isabelle Dumont and the French delegation.
At the end of the visit, Mayor Ünlüce presented the ambassador with a silk shawl, which was initiated to develop silk pastry in Eskişehir, and Isabelle Dumont presented the French Diplomatic Archives book to Mayor Ünlüce.
