NEW YEAR GREETINGS FROM MAYOR ÜNLÜCE
Dear Citizens of Eskişehir
As we prepare to leave 2024 behind, we are already joyous to welcome the New Year. I wish with all my heart that our hopes, good things in our lives and our solidarity will increase in this New Year. 2024 has been a difficult year for both our country and the World. We have all lived through moments in which we felt helpless with everything going on, from economic crisis, high cost of living, search for democracy and justice, natural disasters to pedicides and femicides. It has been a turbulent year with the conflicts and wars in nearby regions.
We rejoiced with the tiny hearts that said hello to the world, we were saddened by the loved ones we lost. Despite all the difficulties, we never lost hope.
With the local elections that took place on 31st of March, we entered in an era where our hopes grew yet again. I have had the honor to be the first mayor of Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality with your trust and support. We immediately started our work to be worthy of this trust.
In the past year, as Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, we have made significant investments in many areas from the city center to the countryside, from infrastructure to superstructure, from social services to culture and art projects, from sports to education, from new green areas to social support projects.
We have strengthened our solidarity in a period when economic conditions have been a bottleneck for all of us.
We prioritized your ideas and needs in every project.
Our city is not only made up of buildings and roads, but also of people who look after each other. Because we know that we are a strong family in solidarity. No one should feel alone in this family.
In 2025, our work will continue with the same determination to bring our beautiful Eskişehir one step closer to where it deserves to be. We will continue to empower each other to build a more livable future with the spirit of unity in our city.
With these feelings and thoughts;
I wish that the year 2025 will bring justice, peace, health, prosperity and happiness to my esteemed fellow citizens, our country and humanity.
May the light of our city bring hope for the future of our country.
