16th INTERNATIONAL ESKİŞEHİR CHILDREN AND YOUTH THEATRES FESTIVAL COMES ROARING
The 16th International Eskişehir Children and Youth Theaters Festival and the 2nd International Puppets of the Old City Festival will be held together and the dual festival will start on May 24.
Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality City Theaters has created new expectations, collaborations and encouraged artistic exchanges while meeting the need in the field of children's and Youth Theater with the International Eskişehir Children's and Youth Theaters Festival, an internationally recognized art event since 2006.
In the past years, the EU Project “Puppets of the Old City”, carried out in partnership with Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, Eskişehir Art Association and Golden Key Company Bulgaria, has provided Eskişehir with an important experience in the field of art and brought a fully equipped puppet workshop and the “International Puppets of the Old City Festival” to the city. In 2025, it was aimed to use resources more effectively and more efficiently, and it was envisaged that 2 festivals would be held in the same year by joining forces, taking into account festival habits and incoming demands.
City Theater officials made a statement on the subject; “The board of directors of Eskişehir City Theaters has decided to hold the International Children and Youth Theaters Festival and the International Puppets of the Old City Festival together, and thus, it is aimed to bring together qualified works in the field of puppet art and children-youth theater with the audience every year. On this occasion, it is with great pleasure that we announce that the 16th International Eskişehir Children and Youth Theaters Festival will be held on 24 - 29 May 2025, accompanied by the 2nd International Puppets of the Old City Festival. We are working for a wide participation and a colorful festival program. We invite our children, young people and everyone interested in puppet art to participate in our festival, which we aim to spread not only to our stages but also to all open spaces of the city.”
