THE REAL WEALTH OF A CITY IS THE HAPPINESS OF THE PEOPLE LIVING IN THAT CITY

The second Kent Lokantası has been opened in Kentpark by Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality. At the opening ceremony, Mayor Ünlüce said, “I would like to thank my generous fellow citizens who love solidarity and cooperation.” CHP Deputy Chairman Gökan Zeybek also expressed that they are proud of all mayors for their work.

The second Kent Lokantası, the first of which was put into service by the Metropolitan Municipality on 24 September 2024, is opened in Kentpark. The opening was attended by Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce, CHP Deputy Chairman for Local Governments and Resilient Cities Gökan Zeybek, CHP Party Assembly Member Baran Bozoğlu, CHP Eskişehir Provincial Chairman Talat Yalaz, CHP Eskisehir MPs  Utku Çakırözer and İbrahim Arslan, Odunpazarı Mayor Kazım Kurt, Tepebaşı Mayor Ahmet Ataç, other district mayors, muhtars and many citizens.

Speaking at the opening cerenomy, CHP Deputy Chairman for Local Governments and Resilient Cities Gökan Zeybek said, “In the March 31 elections, the will of the people in the Metropolitan, Odunpazarı, Tepebaşı and the vast majority of district municipalities in Eskişehir to be governed by Republican People's Party (CHP)Mayors with a populist and socialist understanding of municipalism emerged.  You have been trying to continue a trend that started with our teacher Yilmaz Büyükerşen in Eskişehir many years ago and continues. The Kent Lokantası we see here is more than an emblem. Wherever you see this emblem in all geographies of Türkiye, know that there is a Republican People's Party (CHP) Mayor there. They uses the same emblem with pride and honor. We said that the right hand will not see what the left hand gives. The left hand will donate and the needy person in the right hand will not see this. We continue the application we started with ‘’Donated Bread’’ with the ‘’Donated Meal’’applications.”

Zeybek also stated that there was great satisfaction with CHP municipalities in the surveys they conducted for the 8-month period after the elections. ‘No matter how much you are blocked, no matter how many obstacles you face, you are working for this nation and you will continue to work’ Zeybek said, and continued ’We trust you. We are proud of you. We are proud of your services. I also would like to state that with the Kent Lokantası that opened here today, we support the public and social management approaches and public projects of our Metropolitan Municipality, Tepebaşı Municipality, Odunpazarı Municipality and other municipalities. I hope that this facility will be beneficial to you, our valuable retirees, the people of Eskişehir and all our citizens who will spend their days here and eat at the Kent Lokantası. I would like to thank all municipal employees who contributed, especially our Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce.”

Stating that they are very proud, Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce said, “We have put many facilities into operation since April 2024. We are making many openings one after another. As we promised before, we are putting our Emek Cafe into operation next month. We will open it in December. Let us give you the good news. As you know, we recently opened our Active Life Park. Eskişehir has always been known as a city of youth, but almost a quarter of our population consists of retired citizens. Considering that our retired citizens are also over 50, I think we really need to provide very important services to our senior citizens.”

Mayor Ünlüce reminded that the Metropolitan Municipality Soup Kitchen continues its services in addition to the Kent Lokantası, and said, “As you know, our free food distribution continues to homes at the Soup Kitchen. How lucky we are that almost all of it is provided by donations from you, our valuable Eskişehir residents. I would like to thank our charitable Eskişehir citizens who donated again.”

Mayor Ünlüce said, “The real wealth of a city is the happiness of the people living in that city. Our Deputy Chairman Gökan Zeybek has been very supportive of the ‘’Donated Meal’’ application that we started at our Kent Lokantası. We are very happy that the donations made at the moment are more than the food eaten. I would like to thank once again the magnanimity of our fellow citizens who love solidarity and helping each other. I would like to say again that I am very proud to greet you from here as the first female mayor of Eskişehir” and thanked those who supported Kent Lokantası with their donations.

CHP Eskisehir Provincial Chairman Talat Yalaz, who stated that Kent Lokantası is an example of the social municipality approach, said, “The Kent Lokantası opened here today are one of the best examples of social municipality, populist municipality. Not only a food service is provided to our citizens here, but also a very important service that emphasizes social solidarity, equality and social justice is being implemented,” and congratulated those who contributed to the opening of Kent Lokantası.

Şeker Neighborhood Mukhtar Canan Arı said, “First of all, I would like to thank our dear Mayor for the services she has brought to our city and neighborhood. These works and services have greatly developed our city and neighborhood. It has also increased the living standards of our citizens. I am sure that our Mayor's vision and leadership will move us even further. Dear Mayor, we are lucky to have you as our Mayor. Thank you very much.”

Gökmeydan Neighborhood Mukhtar Mesut Ertem said, “May our new Kent Lokantası, which opened in our neighborhood, in our Kentpark, bring good luck to everyone. I wish good luck to all of our citizens who benefit from it. I thank our Mayor and wish her success in her work.”

After the opening speeches, Mayor Ünlüce and Gökan Zeybek had lunch with the citizens.

Unlike the other one located in the center, Kent Lokantası will also provide cafe services. While it will serve the public 5 days a week, the cafe will serve the public 7 days a week.

The Kent Lokantası will provide meal service between 12:00 and 15:00. The cafe will be open from 10:00 to 18:00 during the day. In addition to having meal here, citizens can also benefit from the cafe services and have a pleasant time. The restaurant, where a meal will be served for 65 TL, will continue to offer a “Donated Meal” service. While many benefactors provided ' Donated Meal'' to support on the first day of the opening, Kızılinler Neighborhood Mukhtar Halil İbrahim Can donated 500 pumpkins to be used for pumpkin dessert.
